THEBIGEAR
THEBIGEAR is a project coordinated by Francesco Michi
We intend to build an imaginary soundscape, imagining to have such a powerful ear that can perceive sounds coming from an endless acoustic horizon (click on "the project" for more).
Everyone can participate to the project… we are only asking you to describe the sounds you are hearing in this very moment exactly where you are… sounds in the room where you and your computer are, coming from the other rooms of your house, or from the outside, from the city or the countryside (to send your contribution click on "to participate").
AN IMAGINARY SOUNDSCAPE
The bugs are outside. whirring and chirping away. calling to loved ones. I am inside. the refrigerator hums in the background, calling me. My breath is so close and inside me. life all around. click clack, click clack. I type, haltingly. I am semi-hunt and peck. I could open my window and let the outside in. I do and the bugs swarm my lamp surprised at their easy entry. hehe, haha, hehe, haha. they are probably bored of my silly human life but discuss it endlessly amongst themselves. very persistent creatures for a few weeks and then the cold comes. quiet persists and percolates once again. The hum of the cold box is relentless even through winter. My computer cackles at me. my cat cackles at me. the bugs cackle at me.
