Computer hum of course - ubiquitous it is these days - but beyond that the sound of trucks loaded with rolls of steel flying down the hill beside our house. Hamilton is a steel town, so you are never far from the sounds of industry. There is also the click click of the toenails on our puppy Ursula as she wanders the house.

It is winter time, and the windows are closed. Some are also wrapped in heat shrink plastic to better seal out the winds of winter. This also greatly reduces the amount of sound coming through the glass.
